Florence, Pitti Uomo 110
The Burgundy Summer Suit
Summer tailoring doesn’t have to be limited to light colours. When made from the right cloth, deeper shades can feel just as fresh, offering a sophisticated alternative to the usual neutrals. Burgundy is a perfect example—rich, elegant and full of character, yet surprisingly effortless to wear in the warmer months. The perfect choice for Florence and the summer edition of Pitti Uomo.
Fabric & Styling
For this look, Giorgio chose a burgundy herringbone cloth from the Golden Selection Spring/Summer 2026 collection by Vitale Barberis Canonico. The combination of a rich burgundy colour and the timeless herringbone weave gives the fabric remarkable depth and movement, while its 54% wool, 46% linen composition and lightweight 260 g/m² construction make it exceptionally comfortable in warmer weather. Elegant without feeling heavy, it’s a perfect example of how texture and some color can elevate a summer suit.
Rather than contrasting the suit with a traditional white shirt, which would also look great, Giorgio opted for a tonal approach. He paired it with a deep maroon shirt cut from the Rugby Linens bunch by Huddersfield Fine Worsteds. Woven from lightweight linen at just 190 g/m², the shirt echoes the richness of the suit while introducing a subtle variation in tone and texture. The result is a monochromatic look that feels refined, contemporary and perfectly suited to the relaxed elegance of Pitti Uomo.
