Our TwistAir Smoking is one of our most practical smokings, without compromising on style. The cloth is pure wool in our rich black TwistAir weave with a matt finish, the lapels are made from a 100 % silk with a beautiful natural shine. This is the perfect smoking for a grand wedding, not only because of its imposing character but also because it is light and comfortable to wear. Here we present this smoking in the sartorial preset, a clean and modern style. It has large lapels and a shale collar, but if the shale is not for you, it works beautifully with peaked lapels. For a less imposing style, simply choose your natural lapel size, remember that you’re free to design this suit as you please.
Wool is the gold standard for suit fabrics and this one is special as it is part of Mond's very own TwistAir collection. The fabric is woven with a special high twist that creates a thin and strong fabric with excellent drape. In addition, the TwistAir fabric is treated with a special finish that gives it a soft touch. As well as being beautiful and exclusive, this fabric is also very comfortable. The strong and durable yarn allows for a slightly looser weave that is breathable and even has some natural stretch, despite being made from 100% wool. Weighing in at 300g/m2, it is definitely on the lighter side for a wool fabric.
Styling a smoking after the book requires a little work, but it is certainly worth it for a wedding. To start of a white or ecru smoking shirt is required, and for a little flair you can add in shirt studs and cufflinks like pictured here. The modern smoking is also worn with a cummerbund around the waist and braces as smoking trousers traditionally do not have belt loops. Shoe wise the most correct option would be patent whole cuts like pictured here, however this is the least strickt convention, a polished pair of Oxfords or loafers does the trick. Another great thing about this smoking is that it is not solely confined to weddings, evening wear can very successfully be styled for other chic parties - the style being cocktail attire.
