Johan Wikström (@sartorial_finn on Instagram) is a sartorial enthusiast based in Helsinki, Finland, renowned for his love of classic menswear.
For Pitti Uomo, Johan had the idea of embracing a fully tonal navy blue ensemble in lightweight, breathable fabrics. To endure the scorching Florentine heat, we concluded that linen is one of the optimal choices for the suit. The fabric is one of our house classics – an Irish linen in a beautiful navy blue with the weight of 310g/m.
Navy blue is a versatile color that can be worn in various settings, perhaps most commonly recognized as the classic choice for business or special occasion suits. However, it can easily be transformed with the use of lighter, textured fabrics. In this case, the use of linen takes the formality down a notch while still maintaining an elegant look.
Here is what Johan said about the design features of the suit:
“I wanted some interesting details that would set this suit apart from the usual navy suit so I opted for a wider waistband and double inward facing pleats. Also went for a generous fit and a bit higher rise than most of my trousers. I really love how it turned out.”
