This light grey suit is one of the most classical iterations of the contemporary suit, which peaked in popularity over the last two decades. The fabric is light and soft tropical weave, with a faint finish, which is further emphasised by the light color. Because of it sits so nonchalant between formal and light, also goes very well with a waistcoat. However, it should also be noted that this suit would work just as well in a looser cut, for those who like their suit a bit more roomy.
Tropical weaves bring out the brighter side of wool, making for a strong and light cloth. The yarn that was used for this particular fabric collection has slightly different shades of grey, leaving a beautiful structure in the cloth that accentuates the fit. It weighs around 290 g/m2, and is made form 100% wool. It is a fairly light fabric, but robust enough to be suitable for everyday wear.
This suit makes a perfect candidate for workwear, as it is formal and clean, without being stiff or dull. As such it is very straightforward to style, the bright grey goes well with most shirt colours, and apart from white, especially beige and olive green make for cool and modern pairings. Tie-wise, both lighter and darker ties work, though we recommend either patterned or knitted ties for the office. A subtle unicolored linen pocket square breaks up the color beautifully, but is in no way necessary. The trousers work separately with most even more shirts than the suit, and all knits except light grey ones. Styling the jacket as a separate is more of a challenge, but certainly possible, pair it with darker khakis or very light jeans and your favorite loafers, for a relaxed and casual look. Shoe wise it works especially well with black dress shoes, or light shoes like suede tan loafers.
