Pitti Uomo 105
Get inspired by the styles seen scenic streets of Florence and the winter edition of Pitti Uomo. For this edition of the fair, we dressed our dear friend and renowned fashion consultant Carlos Domord.
He wanted to have a coordinated beige suit and an overcoat in a matching fabric. The suit and overcoat were both to be made in a herringbone pattern, in a soft sandy beige color. We looked through our extensive fabric collection and found one that aligned with his vision.
The vision
The herringbone suit fabric, weighing 520 grams per meter, is 100% wool and offers exceptional drape and feel to the garments. Woven by the esteemed Italian mill, Fratelli Tallia Di Delfino, it is truly stunning.
Opting for light beige and sand tones in winter breaks away from the usual and expected darker colors and adds warmth and elegance to the overall ensemble.
Even though the pattern looks quite striking, the overall look remains very wearable and elegant thanks to the soft colors. It’s an ideal ensemble for the autumn, winter, and transitional weather days.
Styling the suit and overcoat
When wearing a suit or an overcoat with a bold pattern, simplicity is key for a balanced look. Follow Carlos’s lead and pair it with solid-colored shirts to offset the boldness of the herringbone. A classic white shirt like our Superior White Twill Journey is an excellent choice and a wardrobe essential for every gentleman.
Carlos added contrast to the whole outfit by selecting a tie in a houndstooth pattern. For the shoes, he chose a pair of brown suede loafers which complemented the look beautifully.
Loafers rank among the most versatile footwear options, effortlessly transitioning from casual to semi-formal occasions.
At Pitti Uomo, loafers were showcased in both calf leather and suede variations, demonstrating their adaptability to different styles.
Whether paired with a suit, a pair of tailored trousers for a sophisticated look or with denim for a more relaxed vibe, loafers add a touch of elegance to any outfit.
