Twice a year, Florence becomes the centre of the menswear world. Buyers, designers, tailors, journalists and style enthusiasts gather for Pitti Uomo—not only to discover the latest collections, but to celebrate the enduring art of dressing well.
Despite this season’s heat wave, with temperatures climbing well above 35°C, the streets of Florence remained filled with gentlemen in tailoring. Lightweight suits, unstructured jackets and breathable fabrics proved that dressing elegantly and dressing comfortably can go hand in hand.
One of the things that makes Pitti Uomo so inspiring is the diversity of personal style. You’ll find gentlemen embracing bold colours, daring combinations and statement accessories just as easily as those who favour a softer, more understated palette. There is no single way to dress at Pitti—individuality is what defines the event. But here are the main themes we spotted.
Fabrics
Whites & Soft Neutrals
Nothing captures summer tailoring quite like a lighter colour palette. This season, off-white, ivory and soft beige remained staples throughout Pitti Uomo, offering an elegant alternative to darker tailoring. From relaxed linen jackets during the day to refined dinner jackets worn at evening events, these lighter shades reflected both the season and the Florentine heat while maintaining a timeless sense of sophistication.

Earth Tones & Soft Colour
While Pitti Uomo is always home to gentlemen embracing bold colours and expressive combinations, many attendees opted for a softer, more natural palette this season. Shades of sky blue, sage green, warm tan and rich brown appeared throughout the fair, offering a relaxed yet refined approach to summer tailoring. We also noticed touches of burnt orange and terracotta, adding warmth and character without overpowering an outfit. Together, these earthy hues paired effortlessly with lightweight fabrics and reflected the understated elegance that defined much of this season’s style.

Classic Patterns
Patterns continued to play an important role, particularly in jackets. Windowpane, Prince of Wales and Glen Check were among the most frequently spotted, adding texture and character without overpowering. While checked sport coats paired with plain trousers remained the most popular combination, a number of gentlemen confidently embraced full checked suits. Subtle pinstripes also made an appearance, reaffirming that timeless patterns remain at the heart of classic menswear.
